No Sleep

EVIDENCE KILLED IT LAST NIGHT!! Shouts to Babs and Alchemist (nice beard, homie lol) The set at Amoeba was really dope, except for when it came time to perform "Mr. Slow Flow" and the PA system couldn't handle the tracks big bottom end. Lou and I were driving down Hollywood blvd right past the studio when I spotted Segal and who I THOUGHT was Salam Wreck about to cross the street towards the show. So I ended up being wrong, it wasn't Salam. BUT, I was still on point because it was his cousin Fredo!! We arrived at the store about 2 songs into the set, and left a couple songs before he closed it up so we could meet up with Tina and grab some food in K-town. Korean BBQ at this joing called MANNA is fucking amazing. Beef briscut and short ribs. . .wow. . . thank you to Segal, Louie, T, and Fredo for inviting a kid out to play. I'll definitely be checking that spot out again in the future. The dinner conversation was filled with lots and lots of industry talk, and plenty of "no homo" stabs. Tina is quick! She got me good. . .I won't get into details, because if I were to even try to explain it here, you just won't get it. One of those "had to be there" moments for sure. DUDE. HOW BOUT THAT RIHANNA PICTURE?!? wtf. . . we must have killed about 20 percent of our time last night talking about that situation. I got the update on twitter last night while we were still on our way out there, and when I opened the page with the tmz file on it I was speechless. Chris Brown needs a really good ass kicking. Thats all I'm gonna say.

After MANNA, its back to the grind. We were originally there to bounce some tracks out for Solares, but Louie got the itis and decided he was too lazy to click around on pro tools and actually do some work. . .so as he went to sleep in the lounge, I went and sat in on a TV track session with Segal. TV tracks are the background music with some vocal presence that artists use for live performances. The tracks in question last night were that of none other than La Coka Nostra. For those that don't know, LCN is the reincarnation of House of Pain. (Jump Around, anyone?) Apparently their new album is bananas. I heard about 4 of the tracks that were being bounced, and wow. . . the features on there are AMAZING. Bun B, Sen dog, Sick Jacken. . .the list goes on. Plus it doesn't hurt that Everlast is one of my favorite artists, and of course an influence on my style. In room B, sat Alex of Dr. Hollywood. . . Recording a piece for their single "We Run LA". The track samples "We Love LA" by Randy Newman. . .and although radio has been showing love with the spins, they needed to have the track re worked before lawsuits came flying in about the unauthorized sample. You MUST check out their music. They're about to BLOW UP. I engineered the session til about 3 am. . . went home. . . up at 5:30. Tonight. . .we do it again. The Game @ Club Nokia, then back to the studio.

Heres pics . . .
