By using Google image search, Maaike Evers and Mike Simonian - designers behind MikeandMaaike.com browsed through some of the world most famous & expensive jewelry photos, they ’stole’ some of the low-res images, doctored, then transferred to the leather medium, creating a tangible new incarnation. With the expense and intricacy of the jewels stripped away, their essence and visual intensity are extracted, and printed to create these pixel-like “jewelry”.
