So the album is officially in Skees hands now, and its all set to go. Today we blasted off a record called "Oh LaLaLa" (yea, the Teena Marie sample) and the internet is loving it. The cool thing about this record to me is that its the one record that really started it all for me at BYI. This was one of the first tracks recorded, and initially it was thought to be the big lead single until we got the other records completed and ran with those instead. The way this record is the so called "Start of it all" for me, is that if Rome had never called me to do the bass guitar work on his "First single" (at the time) then I probably wouldn't have been around for the work I did on the entire project, further solidifying my coming into the label. Tomorrow Skee is gonna leak the intro, which should be interesting. It really is a movie. Rome and I sequenced out the album (sequencing is basically just arranging the tracks in their final order for the master track listing; very important as the order of the songs contributes heavily to the overall feel of the album, highs/lows etc) Strangely enough, one of my records is smacked right in the middle of Tha Bizness and Cool & Dre. I'm stupid geeked about that. Boutta start getting starstruck at myself and shit hahaha...
Overall, the cool part is that I've already started to sculp the sound of the next set of records. The grind never stops. I got R&B records to finish for submission to Atlantic artists (Mary j, Drake etc) and then after july 4 weekend- right back into the studio to get to work on the followup to "My Demo".
Nothing in life is perfect, but I live for this music. When everything else in my world seems to crumble, I'll always have my guitars and drums to fall into. Just the other day Lulu, Flaco and I had an A&R meeting with Dj Skee about some new artists that Skee and Lu have their percentage on , and immediately from there went to the studio to wrap Rome's album. The next day we were in the Cahuenga studio tracking vocals for the artists that the meeting was for the previous day. This is the shit I love, and live for. I'm pretty sure I was put here to do this.
