Fuck daylight savings

This weekend was nothing short of perfection. Friday night, did Big Wangs for the Lake show (again. . . it seems like we never get tired of that place. . . with reason, though-its dope). The original plan was to watch the game at Wangs, and eventually meet up with Martins people at Skinny's. Fast forward just a bit. . . my (extremely smoking hot) date left her clutch in the ladies room and when she went back to get it, it was gone. That threw off the lineup for the night just a little bit, but it was a good time nontheless. After hours was poppin. Hollywood rooftops are THE shit. 2 rooms, vodka bar, 6 djs spinning everything from Born Jamaricans to Far east Movement (girls on the dancefloor, that record is whats up right now.) I remember meeting them dudes FM while on the summer promo tour with Omar Cruz in August of 08. . .At the time they had this joint called "Low-ridin" which sampled The Cure's "love song" poppin on radio, and now they're back in rotation with this one. Thats a good look. . . Apparently they were up at the studio a couple days back working on some shit between tour stops. Speaking of TOUR... I might be back out on the road again sooner than I thought. More on that as details come in. . . but from the sounds of it, I'm outta here pretty soon.

Saturday was low key... Sat in on a session in Room A with a Rock band, which was cool. Its always kinda refreshing to hear live instrumentation being tracked as opposed to beats and rhymes...just sayin. The lead singer chick actually ended up being pretty cool too! Not to mention the song was really dope once the guitars were all set in place. Had some company come out and visit me for dinner at Grecos Pizza . . .right across the street from the stu. DAMN GOOD PIZZA. I was thinking were getting the standard old "pizza by the slice" service, but these slices are about the size of a small skateboard! lol . . .This dude sat down at the next table over and was grinding the hell out of his teeth LOUD AS SHIT, so that was our cue to bounce on out of there. It was a late night on friday, so I wasnt really into the thought of going out last night at all. Came home, popped in "Changeling", and fell asleep. Woke up this morning and had a session with CTE west artist Roccett scheduled for 3pm. Had to do 11 pages worth of dj drops. That was fun. . . Roc was signed by Young Jeezy in late 2007, and has been buzzin since forever. Dude is mad cool. . . .were not finished though so were gonna have to set something up for this week to get it all completed. I pushed him a beat cd (of course, lol) so hopefully we'll be knocking out a couple records soon too.

Driving home from the studio, I was tuned in to Power 106. I NEVER listen to the radio, other then the rare occasion that I'm in my car on a saturday night when I tune in and listen to Nicky on the Saturday night street party. . . anyway... so I'm on the 101 leaving Hollywood, and I hear Jeff G say "Up next we got that new Eminem, 50, and Dre 'Crack a bottle', as well as 'We Run LA'..." when it hit me. . . Not only did I just leave from working in the studio where "We Run LA" was concieved and recorded, but its also the home studio of my man Segal who mixed and mastered records from Em, 50 and Dre. (Most recently 50 cent- Get up, and of course The Marshall Mathers LP, Slim Shady LP, and the LEGENDARY Chronic 2001.)

I can dig that.

All in all, a very productive weekend. This daylight savings shit has me kinda fucked up. . . but i'll be ok. Back in the gym tomorrow. That pizza killed me. Not to mention the lunch I had today. thank you, by the way. :)

heres pics. . .

CTE . . . google it.
Kickin my ass in the gym asap.
I'm like a fly on the wall in these sessions. . . .soakin it all up.
